The Mobile Payment Forum has announced it will hold its Fall Members Meeting October 23-24, 2007 at The Marriott Chateau Champlain in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The first day of the meeting will include a presentation by Bruce Cundiff, senior analyst, Javelin Strategy & Research. Mr. Cundiff will discuss consumer usage of mobile data services, and consumer interest in mobile payments and marketing.
Mobile Payment Forum’s newest members, iCache, Firethorn and VSNL International will be introduced on the first day. Representatives from each of the three member organizations will present their company’s new technologies and vision for the future of the m-commerce marketplace.

The MPF task forces and working groups are actively collaborating to shape the future of this rapidly growing and exciting market.”
During the two-day meeting, Jonathan Main, chair of the Proximity Payment Working Group and also vice president, Centre of Excellence for Mobile, Advanced Payments at MasterCard will present “Analysis of Conflicts & Synergies within the Ecosystem --Discussion of Consumer Research Needs.”
In addition, the MPF recently announced the formation of its Mobile Marketing Task Force (MMTF). Eric Bauer, member and representative of the Task Force and also Marketing Analyst at AuthenTec, will present a session on “Educating the Consumer, Cash Credit or Mobile.” The Task Force members are working together through various marketing channels to inform consumers about m-commerce, and to demonstrate its many uses worldwide. The task force will also build on the wealth of information available on the MPF’s Web site, which serves as a comprehensive resource center for organizations that are presently or prospectively working on m-commerce initiatives.
